University Picnic


Each June, the Office of Special Events and the Office of Mission and Values coordinate the University Picnic, a university-wide event that offers faculty and staff from all campuses a themed celebration on a weekday afternoon in Lincoln Park.

    DePaul’s Disco Inferno was a fun flashback to the 70’s, complete with disco ball necklaces, far out dance tunes, fondue fountains, and the brightest jello molds we’ve ever seen.

    The Student Center was transformed into the Wild Wild West, with hearty barbecue, cowboy hats and bandannas for all, cactus plants, and raffle prizes worth robbing a train for!

    “S.S. DePaul” offered a cruise ship atmosphere, with seafood and island-themed delicacies, characters from Gilligan’s Island, nautical ice sculptures, raffle prizes, and a live band.

    “University Picnic Olympiad” celebrated the upcoming 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, with a Grecian buffet, sports-themed decorations, laurel wreaths, raffle prizes, and a live band.

    “Picnic International” was held on the Quad, and featured cuisine and décor from five ethnic traditions, raffle prizes, and a live band.
