DePaul University Carbon Footprint and Sustainability Assessment
What must be done? DePaul as Sustainable
Learning Community
DePaul established the Sustainability Initiatives Task Force (SITF) to further its mission and values through a coordinated focus on sustainability. SITF is charged with developing and recommending a sustainability plan, using the organizing framework of C.O.R.E. – Curriculum, Operations, Research and Community Engagement.
As members of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), SITF uses the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS®) to gauge the progress of sustainability related activities.
The SITF will:
- Coordinate the planning, promotion, and communication of sustainability efforts at DePaul University.
- Collaborate with the C.O.R.E.-aligned working groups to gather the data necessary to develop a University Sustainability Plan. C.O.R.E.-aligned working groups include the Curriculum Working Group, the Operations Working Group, the Research Working Group, the Engagement Working Group, and the Administration Working Group. They will make recommendations on improving DePaul’s efforts towards sustainability outreach and engagement with the community.
