American Heart Association Heart Walk 2012

DePaul University has partnered once again with the American Heart Association (AHA) to be a sponsor for the annual Metro Chicago Heart Walk. The walk was held from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012 in Grant Park. It was a wonderful opportunity for DePaul University employees and students to join together in the fight against heart disease and stroke, the #1 and #3 killers of men and women in Chicago, Illinois, and the nation.

Each year DePaul faculty and staff join together to walk 1.5 or 3 miles around Grant Park to raise awareness on heart disease and stroke. This year DePaul had over 170 faculty, staff, students and alumni participate in the walk and raised more than $15,000 for the American Heart Association. The money that is raised each year will be used to fund the valuable research, education and advocacy efforts of the American Heart Association. The Heart Walk was held on Friday, September 24, 2010. Congratulations to the following team captains who combined raised over $5,000.
